The Next Big Layer-One Crypto Ecosystems: Move vs Cosmos – Insights from Ex-Goldman Sachs Executive
The race for the next big layer-one crypto ecosystem is heating up, according to former Goldman Sachs executive Raoul Pal. In a recent interview on Bankless, Pal highlighted two main contenders in the current digital asset market cycle: Blockchains using the Move programming language and those utilizing Cosmos (ATOM).
Pal, who is also the CEO of Real Vision, pointed to altcoins like Sui (SUI) and Aptos (APT) as prominent examples of projects using the Move language. On the other hand, he mentioned Celestia (TIA) as a rising star in the Cosmos ecosystem.
With industry experts like Chris Burniske and Meltem Demirors backing these ecosystems, Pal believes that they are poised to compete for dominance in the layer-one space. He emphasized that while layer-two solutions are important, the focus right now is on identifying the next Solana-like success story.
As Pal put it, “The layer-one race, the big adoption. Layer-2s are a different conversation.” He also mentioned Avalanche as a contender from the previous cycle but noted that it may not be experiencing the same level of adoption as the other ecosystems.
Investors and enthusiasts in the crypto space are eagerly watching to see which ecosystem will emerge as the next big player in the market. As the competition heats up, it’s essential for individuals to conduct their own research and due diligence before making any investment decisions in the volatile digital asset space.
