Arkansas Legislators Advance Amendments to Crypto Mining Law
Arkansas legislators are making moves to amend the current crypto mining law in the state, with two resolutions passing on the House floor on Wednesday. The state’s law for crypto mining sites has come under scrutiny due to complaints of noise and investigations into potential foreign ownership.
The resolutions passed would give local city and county governments control over crypto mining sites once they are operational and set regulations for the industry. Rep. Rick McClure, who sponsored one of the resolutions, believes that these changes will protect Arkansans.
However, not all legislators are in agreement. Rep. David Ray spoke against several resolutions, advocating for more targeted changes to the current law. He emphasized the importance of addressing specific issues that are affecting residents.
The two resolutions that passed will now move to House committees for further discussion. The outcome of these discussions could potentially lead to significant changes in the Arkansas cryptocurrency mining law by 2025. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
