Avail to Airdrop 600 Million AVAIL Tokens to Web3 Community
Avail, a Web3 infrastructure layer built using Polygon’s software development kit, is set to airdrop 600 million of its native token AVAIL to users in what they are calling “The Unification Drop.” This airdrop aims to bring together various blockchain communities and reward contributors across different sectors.
Founded in 2020, Avail consists of three main segments: Nexus, Fusion, and DA. Avail DA focuses on improving base-layer transactions by scaling rollups through methods like KZG commitments and data availability sampling. These techniques allow for more efficient verification of transactions without compromising privacy.
Avail Nexus provides a cross-chain bridge for users to transact or swap assets on multiple blockchains, while Avail Fusion enables the liquid staking of assets on popular blockchains like Ether and Bitcoin.
The Avail token plays a crucial role in obtaining Avail DA services, securing the unification layer through staking, and participating in governance. The airdropped tokens will be distributed based on a user’s total time, depth, and impact within the ecosystem.
Out of the 600 million token airdrop supply, allocations have been made for blockchain ecosystem developers, testnet users, rollup users, Polygon stakers, and community contributors. The airdrop is not limited to Avail or Polygon users, as it aims to unify various blockchain communities.
Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal expressed excitement about the airdrop, highlighting its potential impact on the Polygon community. Avail was spun-off from Polygon Labs in 2023 to focus on Ethereum-native data availability efforts and bring modular blockchain architectures to the market.
Overall, the Avail token airdrop signifies a significant step towards unifying different blockchain communities and rewarding valuable contributors in the Web3 space.
