Kenya Police Service to Extradite Binance Executive Nadeem Anjarwalla to Nigeria Within the Week
The Kenya Police Service is expediting moves to extradite fugitive Binance executive, Nadeem Anjarwalla, to Nigeria within the week, following his arrest in Kenya. Anjarwalla had escaped from lawful custody in Nigeria in March and was tracked down in April by a team comprising operatives from INTERPOL, the EFCC, the FBI, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Kenya Police Service.
Anjarwalla, who is the regional manager for Binance in Africa, had fled Nigeria using a smuggled Kenyan passport, according to the Office of the National Security Adviser. Government officials familiar with the case revealed that Anjarwalla is currently detained by the police in Kenya and is expected to be extradited to Nigeria soon.
The arrest of the Binance executive was based on an extradition request approved by INTERPOL Nigeria and the EFCC. Sources within the government confirmed that Anjarwalla will be extradited to Nigeria this week.
The Federal Government had previously traced Anjarwalla to Kenya after his escape from custody in Nigeria. The EFCC, INTERPOL, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Kenyan Police Service are now working together to expedite his extradition.
Anjarwalla had gone into hiding upon his arrival in Kenya, but his cover has now been blown. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
