Independent Presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Proposes Putting U.S. Budget on Blockchain
Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is making waves with his bold proposal to put the entire U.S. budget on blockchain. This move, he says, will allow every American to have 24/7 access to every budget item, promoting transparency and accountability in government spending.
During a rally in Michigan, Kennedy emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that it would give “300 million eyeballs” the ability to scrutinize government expenditures. He referenced past scandals, such as the exorbitant costs of toilet seats, as examples of the kind of wasteful spending that could be exposed through this system.
Kennedy, who has been accepting campaign donations in bitcoin, has also expressed support for backing the U.S. dollar with bitcoin if elected to the White House. However, he has voiced opposition to the creation of a central bank digital currency (CBDC), a stance shared by many Republicans, including former President Trump.
Despite facing an uphill battle in the presidential race, Kennedy has positioned himself as the only pro-cryptocurrency candidate, earning praise from advocacy groups like Stand With Crypto. The nonprofit rates him as “strongly supportive of crypto,” contrasting with their assessments of Trump and Biden’s stances on the issue.
As the race heats up between Trump and President Biden, Kennedy’s unconventional proposals and embrace of digital assets have set him apart in a crowded field. Whether his vision for a blockchain-powered budget will resonate with voters remains to be seen, but it’s clear that he is determined to shake up the status quo.
