Telegram Founder Pavel Durov Reveals Future Plans for TON Cryptocurrency

Starting on April 19, Telegram channel administrators will be able to receive payments in TON for advertising. Additionally, users will soon have the option to leave tips for administrators in TON, with content creators receiving a share of the earnings. The ability to buy and sell stickers as NFTs in TON will also be introduced, with sticker artists receiving a significant portion of the proceeds.
Durov emphasized the popularity of stickers on Telegram and the potential for their value to increase as NFTs. He also announced that users will be able to purchase content for crypto through mini-applications on the platform and share TON with their contacts in messages.
One of the most innovative features mentioned by Durov is the ability for users to log into their accounts using cryptocurrency wallets and register the rights to their account names. This will allow users to sell their usernames or even put them up for auction.
All of these new features will be available to all Telegram users, and Durov assured that no programming skills will be required to utilize them. The integration of TON into the Telegram platform has already attracted attention, with the cryptocurrency recently being added to the list of blockchain networks that support the largest stablecoin by capitalization.
The collaboration between Telegram and Tether, the company behind the USDT stablecoin, has sparked rumors about the potential launch of USDT on the TON network. This partnership was first hinted at during a joint appearance by Durov and Tether’s head, Paolo Ardoino, at a crypto conference in Dubai earlier this month.
