Worldcoin Announces World Chain Initiative to Prioritize Human Users in Blockchain
JAKARTA – Worldcoin has unveiled its latest blockchain initiative, the World Chain, aimed at prioritizing human users, enhancing efficiency, and promoting real-world utilities in Web3 applications. The announcement comes after Worldcoin surpassed 10 million World IDs created and completed 75 million transactions, indicating rapid project expansion.
Tiago Sada, head of operations at Worldcoin, explained that the World Chain will function similarly to other L2 and Ethereum networks but with a focus on prioritizing transactions by verified human users over bots. This approach aims to address the issue of bot activity causing congestion on the blockchain, making it difficult for human users to complete transactions.
The World Chain will offer free gas allocations to verified users, reducing friction for beginners and ensuring that influential bots and users cover gas costs for casual users. The network is aligned with Ethereum and is collaborating with projects like Optimism and Base, with full launches expected in the summer.
In response to government scrutiny of its privacy practices, Worldcoin has tightened its privacy checks, restricted platform access to users over 18 years old, and implemented a new privacy feature called “private storage.” Despite temporary bans in countries like Portugal, Kenya, and Spain, Sada emphasized that these measures are part of the natural process of introducing a new protocol.
As Worldcoin continues to grow rapidly, Sada remains optimistic about the project’s future and its commitment to prioritizing human users in the blockchain ecosystem. Stay tuned for more updates on the World Chain initiative and its development preview.
